About The Position

The Clinical Compliance & HR Coordinator is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with NCCHC standards, conducting internal audits, managing recruitment and onboarding of clinical staff, and supporting human resources functions for correctional healthcare operations. This hybrid role requires both clinical nursing expertise and strong HR/administrative capabilities to support quality healthcare delivery in detention facilities.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in correctional healthcare, compliance, or quality assurance
  • Knowledge of NCCHC standards and correctional healthcare regulations
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance principles, medical record auditing, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding processes
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to facility locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in healthcare compliance (CHC, CHPC) or quality improvement
  • Previous experience in correctional healthcare settings
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or coursework
  • Experience with credentialing and privileging processes
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in healthcare
  • Familiarity with correctional EHR systems (such as CorrectTek)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and focused internal compliance audits of clinical operations, medical records, and documentation to ensure adherence to NCCHC standards, state regulations, and contract requirements
  • Perform pre-delegation audits and annual regulatory reviews
  • Monitor and audit medication administration, treatment protocols, and clinical documentation for compliance with policies and procedures
  • Identify areas and procedures that are not compliant and implement necessary corrective actions
  • Track reported violations and coordinate responses with management
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to leadership and stakeholders
  • Maintain current knowledge of NCCHC accreditation standards, correctional healthcare regulations, and industry best practices
  • Source, screen, and recruit qualified clinical staff including RNs, LPNs, medical providers, and behavioral health professionals for correctional healthcare positions
  • Conduct interviews and coordinate the selection process with clinical leadership
  • Manage the complete onboarding process including credentialing, background checks, facility security clearances, and orientation
  • Coordinate new hire training on compliance requirements, facility policies, and NCCHC standards
  • Maintain recruitment records and tracking systems
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified correctional healthcare professionals
  • Process new hire paperwork, employment verifications, and maintain personnel files
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and employee documentation
  • Support employee relations, performance management processes, and disciplinary documentation
  • Ensure HR compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Assist with payroll processing and timesheet management as needed
  • Maintain HRIS systems (such as BambooHR) and employee databases
  • Coordinate staff training and continuing education tracking
