About The Position
The Clinical Associate works under the direction of a nurse to perform basic procedures that support patient care, comfort, and safety. This clinical staff position contributes to care quality and patient satisfaction by addressing patients’ physical and emotional needs. The position is at Winchester Hospital, a 223-bed regional hospital serving the northwest suburban Boston area. The schedule is 36 hours per week on the night shift, including every other weekend and a holiday rotation.
Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Meet at least one of the following: be a Certified Nursing Assistant; be a nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation; have three months of clinical care experience; or successfully complete Winchester Hospital's Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP).
- Be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital team members.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Reposition and ambulate patients.
- Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Assist with transporting patients, beds, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect, label, and transport specimens.
- Retrieve and sign out blood products.
- Perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Maintain accurate intake and output measurements.
- Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.
