Clinical Associate, Progressive Care/Cardiac Unit, 36hr Days
About The Position
Winchester Hospital is seeking a Clinical Associate for its Progressive Care/Cardiac Unit. Working under the direction of a nurse, the Clinical Associate performs basic procedures that support patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The role contributes to quality of care and patient satisfaction by addressing patients’ physical and emotional needs. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotations. The position requires BLS certification and one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation, three months of clinical care experience, or successful completion of Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program. A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred. Effective English communication is required; basic computer skills are preferred.
Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must meet at least one of the following: be a Certified Nursing Assistant; be a nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation; have three months of clinical care experience; or successfully complete Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP).
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Reposition and ambulate patients.
- Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Assist with transporting patients, beds, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect, label, and transport specimens.
- Retrieve and sign out blood products.
- Perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Maintain accurate intake and output measurements.
- Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.
