About The Position

The Clinical Assistant supports oral surgeons and the smooth operation of the clinic. The role calls for a motivated individual with a foundation in dental assisting; oral surgery experience is preferred. The Clinical Assistant supports surgeons during procedures, maintains a sterile surgical environment, and follows high standards of patient care. Candidates with backgrounds such as LPN, medical assistant, CNA, medical technician, nurse’s aide, sterilization technician, phlebotomist, or IV technician are encouraged to apply; training is provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Reliable transportation.
• Motivation to learn, a genuine interest in healthcare, and a commitment to direct patient care.
• Basic computer literacy, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong follow-through, effective communication, and reliability.
• CPR certification.
• Radiology certification, or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
• NH MedTech credential for New Hampshire assistants.
• Massachusetts Dental Assisting License for Massachusetts assistants.

Nice To Haves

• Previous dental or oral surgery experience.
• Familiarity with Open Dental software.
• DAANCE certification, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist chairside during a diverse range of dental surgical procedures.
• Prepare, break down, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.
• Follow infection control, CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Capture radiographic images and document patient records.
• Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient charting.
• Travel as required to support clinic operations.
