About The Position

The Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice (PEP) at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UFCOP) Jacksonville campus is seeking a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the teaching, patient care, research, and service missions of the College. The position involves didactic, clinical skills, and experiential teaching in the PharmD program, with a focus on acute care pharmacy practice. The faculty member will also maintain a clinical pharmacy practice in inpatient internal medicine, provide service to the College, Hospital, and the pharmacy profession, and conduct scholarly works. The faculty member will maintain an active clinical practice/teaching site at UF Health Jacksonville Medical Center, contributing 20% effort to patient care. The UFCOP Jacksonville facilities are located on the campus of the UF Health Jacksonville Medical Center. The faculty member will report to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice. The Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice is the largest department in the college and comprises the clinical faculty, who are described as interactive and engaged leaders in pharmacy practice, education, and research/scholarship. The department has strong faculty in the Health System-Based Pharmacotherapy Division, with research strengths in critical care, infectious diseases, health disparities, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. The UF College of Pharmacy is ranked among the top four pharmacy colleges nationally and is part of a large integrated academic health center with numerous opportunities for cross-college collaboration. The University of Florida is the state's flagship AAU institution and a top-tier research university with a unique academic health center.

Requirements

  • PharmD degree
  • One year of post-graduate training (residency or fellowship) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in internal medicine or other related pharmacy practice
  • Eligible for Florida Pharmacist licensure
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills
  • FDLE Criminal Background Check required

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent experience
  • Previous teaching experience (didactic and/or experiential)
  • Evidence of scholarship
  • Experience in mentoring students and/or postgraduate trainees
  • Prior experience providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population
  • Background in inpatient internal medicine pharmacy practice with experience in academic interdisciplinary teams
