About The Position

Emory University’s Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine is hiring an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician for Emory at Grady Memorial Hospital. The role’s professional effort is expected to be more than 75% clinical service, with 1% to 25% devoted to teaching and 1% to 25% devoted to scholarly activities. The clinical schedule will follow internal Division policy and procedures and correspond to the physician’s actual clinical effort. The position may involve working with trainees, including allied health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations for patients being admitted to the hospital.
• Assess the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensure an appropriate level of care.
• Perform bedside procedures as needed and as credentialed.
• Provide consultation services for specialty provider partners and order consultations from specialty provider partners.
• Initiate contact with primary care providers and outpatient teams to support appropriate continuity of care.
• Participate in scholarly activities, which may include manuscript authorship, research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly work.
• Participate in teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small-group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship.
