Clinical Area Manager

Inogen•San Diego, CA
•$75,000 - $90,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Clinical Area Manager (CAM) is a field-based clinical role responsible for creating clinical demand for Inogen therapy through physician engagement, clinical education, and qualified referral growth in the assigned San Diego territory. The position educates physicians, sleep specialists, care teams, and DME staff while helping qualified patients reach the appropriate fulfillment path. The role is channel-agnostic: patients retain their choice of DME, and CAMs must not direct or steer patients to a specific provider. DME revenue, pricing, and contracting are owned by the Area Sales Manager. The CAM develops and executes a territory plan using claims and market data, maintains account and referral records in the CRM, follows referrals through patient start, and coordinates with the Area Sales Manager or Customer Care when barriers arise. The role includes planned overnight travel and requires residence within the assigned territory, preferably in the San Diego area. The CAM completes onboarding and earns certification within three months through observed mastery, performance results, and a written capstone, with field coaching from the Lead, Clinical Success Enablement. The expected annual base salary is $75,000 to $90,000, plus variable compensation under the Sales Commission Plan. Actual base salary is determined individually based on factors including skills, education, experience, and market location.
