About The Position

The Clinical Applications Engineer (CAE) is the field-based clinical and technical expert for Intuitive’s fluorescence imaging ecosystem. The role supports clinical trial execution through site training, procedural support, and workflow optimization. The CAE works directly with surgeons, pathologists, study coordinators, and clinical trial sites to support consistent implementation of protocol-defined imaging procedures and collection of high-quality clinical data. Intuitive’s Fluorescence Imaging Team is developing imaging agents intended to work with the company’s robotic platforms and Firefly imaging technology. These agents are designed to highlight anatomy and disease in real time, providing surgeons with additional information during procedures. The role includes training site personnel, providing technical support during imaging procedures, optimizing surgical and pathology workflows, supporting consistent endpoint assessment and data quality, facilitating specimen mapping and pathology correlation, and collaborating with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and Data Science teams. The position requires substantial travel, including travel on short notice, and may require night and weekend work as needed.
