About The Position

The RN Supervisor is a position required by the NH Board of Nursing (BON) who is responsible for the oversight of the LNA training program related to confirming candidate eligibility, instructor recruitment and eligibility, clinical site evaluations and reviews, and Office of Professional Licensing and Certification (OPLC) communications. The RN Supervisor will collaborate with the Workforce Education (WE) staff to coordinate scheduling, partnership development, and curriculum adherence to NH BON regulations. This position will report to the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at NHTI – Concord’s Community College.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing
  • Five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Current RN license and good standing with the NH BON.
  • Valid driver’s license or access to transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate all department faculty and staff including assigning instructional assignments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and recommends candidates for BON instructor appointments to the Director of Workforce Development.
  • Hires, trains, and mentors instructors including the setting up of a review schedule for each instructor as required by the Board of Nursing.
  • Reviews applications and meets with applicants to determine and confirm eligibility.
  • Communicates with instructors and healthcare clinical partners regarding student issues and works with students to resolve those issues.
  • Maintains availability to students for questions and concerns throughout their entire experience.
  • Attends classes as necessary to assist instructors with online, laboratory, and clinical assessments.
  • Oversees department curriculum and program development; reviews and coordinates textbook selection.
  • Manages and participates in student academic advising, including the review of student academic progress and registration.
  • Conducts clinical site assessment visits, reviews sites for compliance, completes clinical affiliation agreements, and maintains communication with clinical supervisors.
  • Reviews LNA curriculum, implements required updates, and revises Canvas and the syllabi with those changes.
  • Manages Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) communications and paperwork.
  • Sends certificates of completion and contact information of students successfully completing courses to OPLC.
  • Informs OPLC of qualified instructors that have been hired.
  • Files paperwork on clinical site reviews and files feedback from the BON.
  • Tracks clinical sites and conducts annual site reviews.
  • Manages the LNA program audits conducted by BON.
  • Stays abreast of and implements curriculum changes.
  • Maintains open and ongoing communication at least weekly with WE program coordinator with defined methods and times for discussion.
  • Complies with College, System, State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
