Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, Supervisors provide management, leadership, supervision, and development functions to the CSMA, Peers, and Parent Support Partners. They are to demonstrate considerable skill and independent judgment to carry out the responsibilities of this position. This role is responsible and accountable in all non-clinical and administrative matters, including budget, purchase requisitions, inventory, personnel, and discipline, ensuring effective and efficient services are delivered and meeting the assessed needs and desires of persons served. The position involves staff and program supervision, including the development and implementation of schedules, position descriptions, training requirements, policy compliance, staff assignment, scheduling of substitutes, approval of time sheets, leave time, completion of performance evaluations, and discipline. It also includes providing leadership and consultation to staff to improve program services. The Supervisor is responsible for oversight of programs and coordination with staff to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for staff and persons served, and for the supervision of volunteers, student interns, and other unpaid personnel. Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures is critical. The role involves identifying and following up on problem areas, communicating with supervision/management, suggesting improvements, participating in agency committees, strategic planning, and achieving quality improvement goals. The Supervisor is also responsible for designing and developing effective training activities and supervising training programs for individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities, including participation in Individual Plan of Service meetings, ensuring appropriate training goals and objectives, and verifying that individual plans are implemented and documented as designed. Oversight and supervision of paraprofessional personnel in meeting timelines for submission of reports/documentation and conforming to standard policy, procedures, and ethics is also a key responsibility. Development, implementation, and monitoring of community/volunteer activities for persons served designed as experiential practice for skills being developed are required. Coordination with other Agency programs and community agencies to enhance/assure effective services for individuals served, acting as an Agency representative on committees or collaborative bodies as assigned, is also part of the role. The Supervisor is responsible for conducting and chairing bi-weekly staff meetings and in-service training, staff development, and program planning as assigned. They will also be responsible for making educational presentations within the Agency or for local groups to further the understanding of mental health programs as requested. The role includes developing plans for new work projects and ensuring that all production meets quality standards, as well as developing marketing strategies and plans for products and services available through SCCMHA, in conjunction with the COO and public relations.
