About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) in the CHC Primary Care Clinic, working day shifts. The role requires the ability to work effectively as a team member in delivering healthcare services, including interviewing, examining, assessing, evaluating, and identifying patient health problems. The nurse will provide and maintain a therapeutic environment, articulate the nursing role, communicate the plan of care, and provide age-appropriate nursing care. Key responsibilities include observing, reporting, and documenting patient information, contributing to performance improvement activities, and maintaining nursing standards. The role also involves utilizing nursing resources, ensuring patient comfort and safety, providing input on practice needs, and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge. Specific duties include screening, dosing, and administering injections, instructing and administering tests, maintaining medical records, telephone triage, prescription refill renewal, recognizing medical emergencies, and utilizing various office systems.

Requirements

  • Further training and/or work experience in the clinic specialty
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member in the delivery of health care services
  • Ability to interview, examine, assess, evaluate, and identify health problems for patients
  • Current Oregon RN license
  • Medium physical, high mental demand capabilities required
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as with other physicians/clinical staff, courteously and professionally
  • Able to work with time constraints and high stress situations
  • Must be able to work/maneuver frequently in and around work areas
  • Excellent problem solving skills required

Responsibilities

  • Provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.
  • Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to / from other patient care team members.
  • Provides nursing care appropriate to age group of patients.
  • Observes, reports, and documents relevant patient information.
  • Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services.
  • Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborates with other professional and non-professional personnel in maintaining recognized standards.
  • Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
  • Appropriately utilizes nursing resources, equipment and supplies.
  • Participates in daily activities conducive to the comfort & safety of patients / their families & practice staff.
  • Provides input to the practice leadership regarding practice needs.
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practice.
