About The Position

This position is for a Clinic RN at the CHC Primary Care Clinic, working full-time during day shifts. The role involves providing and maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients and families, articulating the professional nursing role, and communicating the plan of care. The RN will provide nursing care appropriate to the age group of patients, observe, report, and document relevant patient information, and help define standards of excellence for patient care. Participation in performance improvement activities, collaboration with other personnel, and orientation of new staff are also key responsibilities. The role requires appropriate utilization of nursing resources, equipment, and supplies, and contributing to the comfort and safety of patients, families, and staff. Input to practice leadership regarding practice needs is expected. Maintaining and updating clinical knowledge and skills is essential. Specific duties include screening, dosing, and administration of injections, instruction and administration of tests, maintaining medical records, telephone triage, prescription refill renewal, recognizing medical emergencies, and utilizing various office systems.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon RN license.
  • Further training and/or work experience in the clinic specialty.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member in the delivery of health care services.
  • Ability to interview, examine, assess, evaluate, and identify health problems for patients.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as with other physicians/clinical staff, courteously and professionally.
  • Able to work with time constraints and high stress situations.
  • Must be able to work/maneuver frequently in and around work areas.
  • Excellent problem solving skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.
  • Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to / from other patient care team members.
  • Provides nursing care appropriate to age group of patients.
  • Observes, reports, and documents relevant patient information.
  • Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services.
  • Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborates with other professional and non-professional personnel in maintaining recognized standards.
  • Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
  • Appropriately utilizes nursing resources, equipment and supplies.
  • Participates in daily activities conducive to the comfort & safety of patients / their families & practice staff.
  • Provides input to the practice leadership regarding practice needs.
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practice.
