About The Position

The Clinic Patient Registration Specialist provides initial access for clinic and Orthopedic Urgent Care patients. This direct patient-facing role greets and registers patients, verifies medical and demographic information, schedules follow-up appointments, and notifies the clinical team when patients arrive. The specialist also provides general support to patients and teams and performs administrative activities for Revenue Cycle teams, delivering excellent customer and quality service.

This is a full-time position based at Summit Orthopedics’ Vadnais Heights campus. The employee must be flexible to float to other Summit locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete registration and scheduling standards efficiently and accurately, including collecting necessary medical and demographic information.
• Collect, apply, and reconcile co-pays and payments.
• Obtain and accurately enter insurance information; follow insurance and scheduling protocols to support accurate and compliant billing.
• Coordinate interpreters and QRCs as needed.
• Prepare next-day patient charts for teams and distribute couriered mail, postal mail, and faxes.
• Communicate with teams and providers as necessary to provide a seamless, positive patient experience.
• Manage and coordinate patient pick-up items, including records and medical imaging CDs, while obtaining proper authorization and documentation.
• Assist with rescheduling patients when providers’ schedules change.
• Ensure the patient lobby is accessible, neat, and orderly.
• Perform administrative and other duties as needed and assigned.
• Provide attentive, respectful, and helpful customer service to patients, teams, providers, and staff.
• Notify the clinical team of patient arrival.
