About The Position

This position involves both LPN and Medical Assistant III duties within a primary care clinic setting. The role performs administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry into medical records. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medical information (including medication lists), preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. A key responsibility is the administration of medications as ordered by a physician. The position requires the ability to carry out delegated tasks under the supervision of a provider or department supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (Required effective 9/1/20).
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
  • Proficient Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people.
  • Previous experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting.
  • IV certification in State of Missouri.

Responsibilities
