The Certified Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant, assists physicians and professional staff with delegated responsibilities to provide quality services to all customers. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Program graduate
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration
  • BLS (if not current, within 30 days of start date)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients served along with appropriate support services to MD, NP and PA
  • Familiarity with legal and insurance requirements related to documentation within the medical record
  • Strong human relations, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting

Responsibilities

  • Assists the medical staff to help patients maintain health or promote healing. Performs patient care duties with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Performs technical skills specific to assigned service area and other areas as appropriate
  • Provides quality service to all internal customers. Assists all support service areas, as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients, families and internal contacts using AIDET.
  • Accepts responsibility for professional growth and continuing education
  • Accepts responsibility and assures quality, cost effective patient care
  • Accepts responsibility for communication with all customers. Uses proper verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families and other health disciplines to support the continuum of healthcare delivery.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
