The Certified Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant, assists physicians and professional staff with delegated responsibilities to provide quality services to all customers. Requirements
- Medical Assistant Program graduate
- Current Medical Assistant certification or registration
- BLS (if not current, within 30 days of start date)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients served along with appropriate support services to MD, NP and PA
- Familiarity with legal and insurance requirements related to documentation within the medical record
- Strong human relations, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
Nice To Haves
- Previous Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting
Responsibilities
- Assists the medical staff to help patients maintain health or promote healing. Performs patient care duties with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Performs technical skills specific to assigned service area and other areas as appropriate
- Provides quality service to all internal customers. Assists all support service areas, as needed.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients, families and internal contacts using AIDET.
- Accepts responsibility for professional growth and continuing education
- Accepts responsibility and assures quality, cost effective patient care
- Accepts responsibility for communication with all customers. Uses proper verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families and other health disciplines to support the continuum of healthcare delivery.
