About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant, assists physicians and professional staff with delegated responsibilities to provide quality services to all customers. This role involves performing patient care duties across various age groups and technical skills specific to the assigned service area. The position also emphasizes providing excellent customer service, accepting responsibility for professional growth, and ensuring quality, cost-effective patient care through effective communication.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Program graduate
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or registration
  • BLS (if not current, within 30 days of start date)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients served along with appropriate support services to MD, NP and PA
  • Familiarity with legal and insurance requirements related to documentation within the medical record
  • Strong human relations, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Assists the medical staff to help patients maintain health or promote healing.
  • Performs patient care duties with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Performs technical skills specific to assigned service area and other areas as appropriate.
  • Provides quality service to all internal customers.
  • Assists all support service areas, as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients, families and internal contacts using AIDET.
  • Accepts responsibility for professional growth and continuing education.
  • Accepts responsibility and assures quality, cost effective patient care.
  • Accepts responsibility for communication with all customers.
  • Uses proper verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families and other health disciplines to support the continuum of healthcare delivery.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
