About The Position

Paradigm is seeking a Project Attorney/Specialist to support a global leader in legal services and settlement administration. This remote role is suited to attorneys with a strong tax background who enjoy solving complex problems, communicating with customers, and delivering exceptional service. The specialist serves as an escalation resource for customer and class member inquiries, helping people navigate settlement and tax-related matters. The position involves substantial phone and email communication and requires professional phone etiquette and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and empathetically. This is a contract assignment paying $30.00 per hour, with an estimated start date of November 9, 2026. The schedule is flexible, approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Approved work locations are Arizona, Washington DC, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. Assignment lengths are estimates based on workload and project scope; assignments may be extended based on business needs, quality, and productivity, and project durations may differ from initial expectations.

Requirements

Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school, or a foreign law degree plus an LL.M.
A bar license is not required.
Strong tax background.
Experience reviewing and discussing tax documentation and compliance requirements.
Ability to understand and explain W-9, W-8BEN, and W-8BEN-E forms.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and professional phone communication skills.
Demonstrated critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn technology-heavy applications quickly.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Successful completion of education verification and background screening.

Nice To Haves

Experience with tax compliance documentation, including W-9, W-8BEN, and W-8BEN-E forms.
Prior experience handling escalated customer inquiries.
Experience de-escalating challenging customer situations.
Experience supporting legal services, claims administration, settlement administration, compliance, or related industries.
Ability to quickly learn complex case details and apply information effectively during customer interactions.

Responsibilities

Respond to complex customer and client inquiries by phone, email, and written correspondence.
Explain tax-related concepts and settlement processes clearly and professionally.
Provide exceptional customer service while handling sensitive and escalated situations.
Serve as an escalation point for inquiries that cannot be resolved through standard processes.
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, clients, and internal teams.
Develop, review, and maintain scripts, procedures, and workflow documentation.
Monitor case activity and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Implement feedback from supervisors and project managers promptly and effectively.
Resolve customer concerns with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Complete assigned work accurately, on time, and in compliance with project requirements.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client and customer information.
