About The Position

Veterinary Care & Specialty Group (VCSG) is Chattanooga’s largest multi-specialty and emergency hospital. The Client Service Representative (CSR) is the first point of contact for pet owners during stressful and emotional situations and plays an important role in supporting clients and the veterinary team. The position involves triaging calls, managing patient intake and discharge, and providing compassionate, efficient, and professional service. The stated schedule is Friday through Monday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate during emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially under pressure.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment with sick or injured animals.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a veterinary, emergency, or medical reception environment.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and emergency triage protocols.
• Proficiency with veterinary software, including Instinct.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients with empathy, urgency, and professionalism.
• Triage incoming calls and determine the appropriate response based on emergency protocols.
• Gather and verify client and patient information and ensure accurate, timely data entry.
• Handle emotionally charged situations with compassion and clarity.
• Process payments, estimates, invoices, and medical records.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in reception and lobby areas.
• Serve as a liaison between the veterinary team and clients.
