About The Position

FM is a leading property insurer serving the world's largest businesses, offering engineering-based risk management and property insurance solutions. The Client Service Intern program focuses on the day-to-day activities of FM’s three core business functions: underwriting, engineering, and claims. The intern develops basic underwriting and engineering skills for identifying and assessing risk and applying underwriting standards. The role provides exposure to underwriting, engineering, relationship management, and client servicing.

Requirements

• Academic credentials with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Plan to graduate with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Risk Management, or another applicable field.
• Ability to work full-time during the summer internship and commute to the assigned operation throughout the internship.
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and computer skills.
• Ability to work with financial data.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Account Managers and Underwriters with rating and pricing, coverage analysis, terms and conditions, value analysis, and certificates of insurance.
• Develop an understanding of FM’s capabilities and processes and attend client and broker meetings.
• Help ensure client-facing documents are developed consistently and meet marketing standards.
• Learn loss prevention and control concepts, including reading and using Risk Reports, and apply that knowledge to assist the Account Manager with exposure identification and analysis.
