About The Position

Aird & Berlis LLP is currently seeking to fill an open vacancy for a Client Operations Coordinator who has law firm experience. Reporting to the Supervisor of Client Operations, the ideal candidate will have great communication skills, a keen eye for detail and will be able to work well both independently and on a team. Candidates must posses strong work ethic, professionalism, and good judgement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a conflict administrator, legal assistant, or law clerk
  • Previous administrative work experience relating to patent, accounting and/or billing functions is an asset
  • Experience in a legal or professional services setting is strongly preferred
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
  • Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Experience with Aderant or Elite accounting software is preferred
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized
  • Detailed

Responsibilities

  • Conflict checking; responsible for conducting database searches for new clients and matters, prepare and report findings to initiating lawyer, send firm wide email daily listing all new conflict inquiries
  • Review engagement letters for compliance with firm policies
  • Open new clients and matters, ensuring firm requirements are met
  • Cross-training functions within department
  • Liaise with patent agents, lawyers and assistants
  • Produce the highest quality of work
  • Accountable for all work assigned
  • Takes initiative
