About The Position

The Client Care Specialist works at Crossroads, a supportive residence for men with mental, physical, or developmental disabilities. The role helps maintain a safe, supportive, and clean environment and uses Rescue Mission resources to support residents’ well-being and positive change. The specialist oversees medication dispensing and supports residents in building or maintaining independence while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

This is a full-time overnight position scheduled Sundays through Thursdays, 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The starting pay is $17 per hour, with an additional $2 per hour shift differential for the third shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sensitivity and compassion for the homeless population.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interviewing and assessment skills.
• Flexibility to change.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently.
• Crisis management skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional presence when exposed to complex client personalities, problems, and needs.
• Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working with homeless, addicted, and/or mentally ill clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispensing medications to residents.
• Assist residents in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Develop rapport with clients and provide support, encouragement, and motivation toward building or maintaining independence.
• Maintain appropriate professional employee-client boundaries.
• Complete rounds and monitor facilities.
• Facilitate drug and breathalyzer tests.
• Distribute personal care items and bedding.
• Enforce guidelines as appropriate and refer clients to appropriate internal services.
• Treat clients with respect and dignity.
• Share pertinent client information through documentation, meetings, and individual communication as needed, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the team to provide care for clients.
