The Clerical Support/Scheduling Specialist for Children’s Therapy must be able to exercise superior communication skills and filter a vast amount of information accurately with the ability to interface effectively with patients, therapists and other levels within the organization. Has a working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes. This person needs to have the ability to coordinate with families and therapists to schedule evaluations and recurring treatments. They also need the ability to monitor cancelations and work to proactively fill schedules in order to optimize therapists productivity. Daily coordination of calls inbound and outbound calls for the department. Handles multiple staff requests, by directing the request to the most appropriate person in a timely manner to respond. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
