The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Northampton County Assistance Office offers a chance to support a program that helps families meet essential heating needs. This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance. This position supports the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program by handling a wide range of clerical tasks that keep daily operations functioning well.

Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Scan documents, modify electronic image sets, and keep scanning equipment clean
  • Enter information into automated systems such as CIS and Mapper
  • Access automated systems to obtain needed information
  • File documents and purge case records according to the retention schedule
  • Greet visitors, collect accurate information, and refer individuals appropriately
  • Review and sort mail, logs, and printouts and send items to the correct recipients
