The Clerical Assistant 2 position at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill offers a steady and purposeful role that supports medical department operations. Requirements

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must possess keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
  • Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
  • Ability to work with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices etc.
  • Previous experience with electronic communication tools/skills, such as video conferencing, and creating meetings in Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor licensing, insurance, and certification information for medical staff and vendors.
  • Organize department files, injury reports, fit testing records, and scheduling documentation.
  • Take, type, and distribute minutes for departmental meetings.
  • Manage gate clearances, including six-month vendor submissions and updates.
  • Track outcome measures, enter Compass information, and maintain employee contact records.
  • Reserve rooms, support clerical workflow, and complete assigned tasks for the medical department.

Benefits

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).
