About The Position

The Cleaning/Utility Person maintains buildings, grounds, components, vehicles, forklifts, and shop floors to keep Hawthorne Cat facilities and equipment clean, safe, and in good condition. The role works under the close supervision of the General Service Manager and is based in Waipahu. The position includes driving trucks or vans for deliveries and pickups; cleaning and detailing vehicles; keeping vehicles fueled and arranging maintenance or repairs; securing buildings and grounds at day’s end; maintaining and troubleshooting buildings and grounds; checking and verifying shipments; and keeping work areas neat and organized. The employee follows organizational standards, safety procedures, rules, and regulations, attends educational workshops, reviews publications to maintain technical knowledge, contributes to team efforts, and performs other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
PC skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Forklift certification, or ability to become certified within 60 days.
Ability to multitask and complete assignments.
Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds daily, with frequent exertion.

Responsibilities

Drive a truck or van to complete deliveries and pickups at assigned locations.
Wash, clean, and detail vehicles; keep them fueled; complete preventive maintenance requirements; and arrange for repairs.
Secure buildings and grounds at the end of the day.
Maintain service quality by following organizational standards.
Keep buildings, grounds, components, vehicles, and work areas neat and organized, while complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on buildings and grounds.
Check, inspect, and verify shipments.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related work as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
