About The Position

The Cleaning Specialist cleans and maintains the appearance of casino public areas and restrooms at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort. The role works in the Engineering department and reports to the EVS Supervisor, DR Supervisor, and EVS. It involves cleaning floors, furniture, equipment, ash urns, trash urns, ashtrays, and public and employee restrooms, while providing outstanding guest service and following applicable policies and procedures. The position requires familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced casino environment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of floor machines and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Neat, professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene.
• Ability to work independently.
• Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items.
• Ability to push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino and surrounding property.
• Ability to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
• Ability to tolerate varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals properly.
• Sweep and mop tile, brick, and concrete areas.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Clean public and employee restrooms daily.
• Provide guests with outstanding service.
• Participate in team projects, committees, and task forces by volunteering and providing input and suggestions.
• Acknowledge and respond to customers immediately.
• Stay knowledgeable about current promotional programs and events.
• Proactively address incidents and issues and ensure resolution with employees.
• Follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures ethically.
