About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is hiring a Cleaning I operator at its Corinth, Mississippi facility. The position works in a detail or preclean operation focused on cleaning engine and/or component parts. The operator disassembles and details engine components in a fast-paced environment focused on safety and quality, and may use disassembly tools or an overhead hoist, perform material handling, and cross-train in other Salary Grade 1 roles when qualifications and physical requirements are met. The role involves regular use of computer systems, teamwork, and working without close supervision. Operators must wear a detail suit with hood and/or respirator and follow Built in Safety guidelines. This is a second-shift position working 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with 40-hour work weeks and potential overtime. The work may involve frequently changing temperatures and physically demanding tasks, including standing for up to 10 or more hours per shift and lifting, pushing, or pulling parts weighing up to 30 pounds multiple times per shift. The facility is climate controlled in most areas. Starting pay is $17.05 per hour, with a 7% second-shift premium; the stated summary pay range is $17.05 to $22.15 per hour.

Requirements

Basic computer experience, including the ability to read standard work documents and enter data.
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a detail suit with hood and/or respirator.
Complete required respirator physical and training.
Ability to stand for up to 10 or more hours per shift.
Ability to walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15 to 30 minutes.
Ability to lift, push, or pull parts weighing up to 30 pounds multiple times per shift.
Ability to handle a physically demanding role in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
Attention to detail and self-motivation.
Agency workers applying must have completed the required 300 hours and meet the position requirements.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Disassemble and detail engine components in a fast-paced, safety- and quality-focused environment.
Use disassembly tools, including vibratory and pneumatic tools, to clean and remove debris from components.
Cross-train in other Salary Grade 1 positions, such as Disassembly 1, Cleaning 1, Assembly 1, or Logistics 1, when qualifications and physical requirements are met.
Use an overhead hoist to move large components when required.
Perform material handling, including unloading parts from tubs or baskets according to the production schedule.
Use computer systems, including email, on a regular basis.
Adhere to Built in Safety guidelines and work effectively in a team and without close supervision.
