About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures. Responsibilities include routine cleaning of floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other building surfaces; operating cleaning equipment; managing waste; and reporting maintenance defects. The role may also include snow removal at building entrances and walkways, periodic high dusting and surface polishing, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must be able to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors and other surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, inside and outside, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors and servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash and place it in approved containers and designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
