About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and, when directed, clearing snow from building entrances and walkways. The role also includes periodic high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing, as well as other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a backpack-style portable vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both inside and outside.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies.
• Perform standard bathroom cleaning, including wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet-paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves and stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
