About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, glass, walls, and bathrooms; replenishing bathroom supplies; handling and disposing of trash; reporting defects; and, when directed, clearing snow from building entrances and walkways. The role also performs periodic high dusting and polishing of leather and wood surfaces.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and high areas periodically.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; clean entrance-door glass and trim and spot-clean interior walls.
• Clean bathrooms daily, restock paper supplies, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, empty waste baskets, and clean bathroom surfaces and floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash, place it in approved containers in designated collection areas, and replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, wall washing, and polishing of leather and wood surfaces.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
