About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining interior floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other building surfaces; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and reporting facility defects to supervisors. The role also includes periodic tasks such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing, as well as other duties as assigned.

Requirements

No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior building surfaces.
Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and areas requiring periodic high dusting.
Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate each day.
Clean bathrooms daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors, emptying waste baskets, and servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers.
Restock bathroom paper supplies daily.
Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas for removal.
Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
