About The Position

Guardian Service Industries is hiring a Cleaner to perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in building interiors and surrounding exterior areas. Duties vary by role and may include inspecting and cleaning public restrooms, maintaining toiletries, policing public areas and entrances, cleaning windows and display areas, servicing elevator cabs, maintaining exterior perimeters and receptacles, and placing or removing lobby carpet runners. The position also includes assigned work orders such as moving office furniture and supplies, delivering water, cleaning small office refrigerators, and setting up or taking down functions. The work may involve continual lifting and moving of equipment and furniture. The company may modify or waive the described requirements and duties at its discretion.

Requirements

Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is required.

Responsibilities

Inspect public lavatories each shift, replenish toiletries, clean mirrors, sinks and toilets, remove dirt, stains and trash, and mop floors around fixtures and under urinals at least daily; use disinfectant cleaner on scheduled session days.
Continuously police public areas to remove litter, damp-mop spills, empty trash receptacles, and remove spots or graffiti from walls and columns.
Keep building entrances neat and orderly by removing litter, debris, trash and cigarette butts during the workday.
Pick up trash as required or requested.
Complete cleaning tasks assigned through the work order system.
Clean interior and exterior lobby windows, windowsills and doors.
Spot-clean public display cases and items such as statues and plaques, along with brass rails and vestibule areas.
Inspect and clean elevator cabs, including vacuuming, doors, call and cab buttons, interior walls, and debris or soil; install or remove elevator protection pads as needed.
Police assigned exterior building perimeters, remove litter and debris, sweep standing water, and perform additional cleanup when required.
Remove trash from exterior receptacles, replace liners, and clean receptacles monthly.
Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces of building porticos.
Place and remove lobby carpet runners according to weather conditions.
Perform minor snow removal as directed, including shoveling, sanding, spreading salt and sweeping walkways and footpaths.
Complete assigned work orders, including moving office furniture, equipment and supplies; delivering water for coolers; cleaning and periodically defrosting small office refrigerators; and completing function setups and takedowns.
