About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to provide an outstanding member experience and support the safety of members and team members. The role includes cleaning common areas and equipment, maintaining supplies and cleaning equipment, and reporting facility issues to the Club Manager. Cleaners may also assist with member and guest service, phones, retail transactions, member concerns, and facility safety and cleanliness checks.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to stand and move continually throughout the club during the shift.
Ability to communicate continually in person or by phone during the shift.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals.
Ability to frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Ability to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to an established schedule.
Dispose of trash properly and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas, promptly correcting safety or policy issues and addressing cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
