About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Conyers, Georgia, for a local, home-daily role. Drivers deliver solo, shuttling and performing yard-hostler work. The route uses day-cab and yard tractors with 48- or 53-foot dry-van trailers. Freight is no-touch, with live loading and unloading. Trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The role pays $29.50 per hour, with an advertised weekly pay of $1,300 or more, and offers paid training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and Sundays; the start time is 1:00 p.m. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and perform assigned driving and freight-related duties while following applicable laws, regulations, standards, and procedures.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver solo on local routes, including shuttling and yard-hostler work.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
