About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Malakoff, Texas, to deliver freight solo within Texas. The route is home daily, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional overnight trips. Dispatch starts between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m., and drivers work 50 or more hours per week. The tractor is a day cab with a manual transmission, and the trailer is a flatbed. Freight includes brick and building materials; drivers use load-securement straps and do not tarp. The position requires six months of flatbed experience and use of a truck-mounted forklift. Drivers are paid weekly, with solo mileage paid at $0.665 per mile and solo stops at $21.79 per stop. The posting gives average weekly pay of $1,500 and describes up to $2,200 in annual bonuses and additional bonuses at two years. Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Have at least 6 months of flatbed experience.
Be able to drive a manual transmission.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Deliver freight solo within Texas.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
