About The Position

The Claims Specialist facilitates the claim reporting process between Lockton clients and insurance carriers. The role analyzes and reviews insurance claims for accuracy and completeness, obtains additional information as needed, verifies current insurance coverage, and reports claim information accurately and promptly to the appropriate carrier on behalf of clients. The specialist enters claim information into Lockton's Applied system for tracking and reporting, responds to questions and requests concerning claim information, and collaborates with Claims Consultants to support accurate, timely reporting. The role also requires proactive handling of daily mail, with particular attention to items requiring immediate action.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Knowledge of multiline commercial property/casualty coverages and claims.
• Insurance industry knowledge through experience and/or coursework.
• Experience using online systems to report and/or retrieve claims documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to report claim information accurately and promptly to the appropriate insurance carrier on behalf of Lockton clients.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of industry trends and governmental regulations.
• Ability to complete continuing education requirements as needed.
• Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions.
• Ability to comply with company policies and procedures and proactively protect the confidentiality of client and company information.
• Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft.
• Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine.
• Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time.
• Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed.
• Legally able to work in the United States.

• Handle daily mail proactively, paying special attention to items requiring immediate attention.
