Claims Specialist - Repo Plus
About The Position
The REPO Plus Claims Specialist manages daily new assignments and a REPO Plus inventory of up to and exceeding 400 files. The position reviews insurance policies and claim documentation to investigate potential coverage for damaged vehicles on behalf of a variety of lenders. It directs claim activities, including coverage and claim-history investigations, estimate and appraisal requests and reviews, and follow-up on payment or rejection of claims by outside insurance carriers (OICs). The specialist also contributes to department training, auditing, mentoring, and workflow and process improvement. The position serves as a technical and escalation resource for the team and department and provides support to the REPO Plus Claims Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities
- Manage new claim assignment intake and pending REPO Plus inventory.
- Review new assignments for potential insurance coverage.
- Identify opportunities for coverage investigations, new claim reporting to carriers, estimate or appraisal creation and review, prior claim-history investigations, and demands to outside insurance carriers.
- Follow up with outside insurance carriers regarding payment or rejection of REPO Plus claims and escalate rejected files as necessary.
- Meet individual quality-assurance and recovery targets set by REPO Plus management.
- Provide new-hire, evergreen, and cross-position training as directed by the REPO Plus Claims Supervisor.
- Serve as an escalation resource for claims referred by REPO Plus Adjusters or other department members.
- Take on additional pending inventory when needed, including during staff leave or inventory-reduction efforts.
- Complete Department of Insurance complaints or inquiries as needed and handle one-off claim assignments outside the standard workflow or scope.
- Provide feedback and assistance on workflow and process reviews and enhancements, including testing workflows, contributing to discovery and design of new processes, and sharing feedback with REPO Plus management.
- Assist the REPO Plus Claims Supervisor with work assignments, inventory audits, client communications about specific claim inquiries, and serving as an additional lender contact.
