About The Position

Starr is seeking an experienced construction defect claim manager to handle excess construction defect claims involving Starr insureds throughout the United States. The role requires prompt coverage analysis, determination of liability and defenses, investigation of alleged damages, and timely reserve evaluation. The claim manager will attend virtual and in-person mediations and settlement conferences to negotiate cost-effective settlements and may attend trials. The position also involves communicating with profit center leaders, underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers about trends, developments, and individual claims. The preferred location is Alpharetta; alternate locations are Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, or Philadelphia. Travel may be required depending on business needs and caseload.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 7 years of experience handling construction defect claims.
• Superior negotiation and litigation management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• A proactive approach.
• Ability to obtain insurance adjuster licenses where needed.
