The Senior Liability Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates, disposes of, and settles complex claims with high exposures and minimal supervision. The role includes investigating and determining coverage, liability, and damages, and setting appropriate reserves. Adjusters exercise judgment to analyze claims exposure, choose an appropriate course of action, and settle claims. They interact extensively with parties involved in the claims process, communicate clear action plans, and present plans for moving cases toward resolution. They demonstrate thorough knowledge of the claim file process when taking actions and responding to client questions. Claims are processed in accordance with client and corporate policies, procedures, best practices, and applicable statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements. The adjuster complies with carrier reporting and threshold requirements, recognizes and pursues excess insurance recoveries, and manages a full caseload, including cases of increased severity. Typical reserve and settlement authority is up to $10,000 for liability and/or $25,000 for workers compensation, or greater.
