Civil Project Engineer - Municipal Focus
About The Position
Apex Companies is seeking a Civil Project Engineer with a preferred focus on municipal infrastructure projects. The role prepares engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents; manages construction observation and project management services; and provides technical guidance and quality control to ensure deliverables comply with required standards and specifications. The engineer leads client interactions through design, bidding, contracting, and construction, and coordinates with municipal staff and regulatory agencies on permits and compliance. The position also collaborates with colleagues and the Division Manager on infrastructure projects and engages with city councils, public works departments, and other local entities to discuss projects, provide updates, align engineering solutions with community needs, and drive strategic initiatives. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- At least 8 years of civil engineering experience, focused on municipal engineering.
- AutoCAD proficiency is required.

- Civil 3D experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents, with a preferred focus on municipal infrastructure projects.
- Manage and lead construction observation and project management services to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and quality control to ensure project deliverables meet required specifications.
- Lead client interactions during design, bidding, contracting, and construction to support smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with municipal staff and regulatory agencies to secure permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the Division Manager to manage and support infrastructure projects.
- Engage with city councils, public works departments, and other local entities to discuss project details, provide updates, align engineering solutions with community needs, and drive strategic initiatives.
