New Grad Civil Engineer I
About The Position
HNTB is seeking a new graduate Civil Engineer I for its West Florida offices, with opportunities in Traffic, Drainage, and Roadway. The role assists with producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. It performs research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with project teams, applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria to projects of varying size and complexity. The engineer uses technical knowledge to support the execution and evaluation of project designs and develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. The role contributes to successful project delivery across a diverse range of client projects. Relocation and housing are not provided, and visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD or other software.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work within the provided schedule and number of hours.
- Support the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Assist in preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
- Assist engineering teams with organizing and administering design files.
- Support engineering teams with tasks including research, data collection, field investigations, project development, and design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
