About The Position

UELS, LLC is seeking individuals interested in developing or continuing a career in civil drafting design. The role contributes to a diverse range of projects, including civil engineering design, survey plats, ALTA surveys, grading design, mapping, right-of-way plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and construction plans. The technician works closely with project managers, engineers, land surveyors, and other team members to produce accurate, efficient design solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. The position uses AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Suite, and other applications. The Design Team includes entry-level technicians, Civil Design Technicians, and Civil Design Specialists, with pay ranges based on skills, performance, experience, and tenure. UELS is not currently seeking to add staff at the entry level. Civil Design Technician candidates typically have one to five years of experience using AutoCAD or other graphic design or mapping software, or relevant education. Civil Design Specialist candidates typically have at least five years of civil engineering design experience in one or more listed areas, and may contribute to project management across the project lifecycle, including budget tracking and quality control. Civil drafters are based in Vernal, Utah, processing jobs from several U.S. offices. The company describes its environment as fun, friendly, supportive, positive, team-oriented, and fast-paced. UELS has been in the land surveying and engineering business since 1964. Candidates requiring U.S. visa sponsorship cannot be pursued at this time.

Requirements

Civil Design Technician candidates: one to five years of experience using AutoCAD or other graphic design or mapping software, or relevant education.
Civil Design Specialist candidates: at least five years of civil engineering design experience in some or all of the listed design areas.
Must not require U.S. visa sponsorship at this time.

Nice To Haves

Experience in survey plats, ALTA surveys, alignment sheets, grading design, mapping, right-of-way plats, legal descriptions, or construction plans.
Civil design project management experience, including contributing to the project lifecycle, budget tracking, and quality control.

Responsibilities

Perform civil engineering design and prepare survey plats, ALTA surveys, grading designs, mapping, right-of-way plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and construction plans.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, land surveyors, and other team members to develop accurate and efficient design solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
Use AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Suite, and other applications.
For Civil Design Specialist-level project management work, contribute to the project lifecycle from concept through construction documentation, including budget tracking and quality control.
