About The Position

UELS is seeking individuals interested in developing or continuing a career in civil drafting design. This position joins the Design Team and contributes to civil engineering design, survey plats, ALTA surveys, grading design, mapping, right-of-way plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and construction plans. The technician works closely with project managers, engineers, land surveyors, and other team members to provide accurate and efficient design solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. The role uses AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Suite, and other applications. The Design Team includes Civil Design Technician and Civil Design Specialist levels. Civil Design Technician candidates generally have one to five years of experience using AutoCAD or other graphic design or mapping software, or relevant education. Civil Design Specialists generally have at least five years of civil engineering design experience in one or more listed areas, and may contribute to project management across the project lifecycle, including budget tracking and quality control. An entry-level tier is described, but the company is not currently seeking to add staff at that level. Civil drafters are based in Vernal, Utah, and process jobs from several offices throughout the United States. UELS describes its workplace as friendly, fast-paced, supportive, and team-oriented. Requirements

For the Civil Design Technician level: one to five years of experience using AutoCAD or other graphic design or mapping software, or relevant education.
For the Civil Design Specialist level: at least five years of civil engineering design experience in some or all of the listed areas.
Use AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Suite, and other applications.
Candidates requiring U.S. visa sponsorship cannot be pursued at this time.

Responsibilities

Perform civil engineering design.
Prepare survey plats and ALTA surveys.
Perform grading design and mapping.
Prepare right-of-way plats, alignment sheets, legal descriptions, and construction plans.
Work with project managers, engineers, land surveyors, and other team members to develop accurate design solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
For civil design project management work, contribute to the project lifecycle from concept through construction documentation, including budget tracking and quality control.
