The Christmas Driver operates vans or non-DOT trucks to support The Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Tree and Christmas Kettle programs. The role transports bell ringers to and from designated kettle worksites and collects and delivers gifts, stockings, and other donations from homes, agencies, churches, events, and other assigned locations. The driver plans pickups along direct routes to meet schedules and is responsible for the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations. The position also involves keeping vehicles clean, helping with janitorial and general cleanup, assisting with traffic routing during Angel Tree distribution, and setting up and dismantling Christmas displays. Work is performed outdoors and may involve changing weather, dirt, dust, and disagreeable sights or odors. The driver must meet attendance requirements, communicate effectively in English, safely transport employees, and perform physical tasks including continuous stooping, standing, and climbing, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials and donations.
