About The Position

The Choral/Music Teacher teaches the district-approved curriculum and creates developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The role adapts instruction to students’ needs through individualized and small-group instruction, maintains an effective learning environment, communicates with parents, monitors students’ academic and social growth, and supports referrals and strategies for individual education plans.

Responsibilities

• Teach the district-approved curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction adapted to each pupil’s needs.
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Communicate regularly with parents outside the normal classroom day through newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, and other means.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
