About The Position

The Music Teacher creates resources for the curriculum and aligns curriculum with the PSSA Assessment Anchors. The teacher works as part of a grade-level team to coordinate schoolwide efforts in support of school goals and scholars. Employees are expected to champion American Paradigm Schools’ Caring School Community Program, which builds positive classroom and schoolwide communities and develops students’ social and emotional learning skills. Through the program, faculty and staff help create a warm, safe, and disciplined environment where community members can interact constructively and students can grow as caring, responsible members of their school communities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Pennsylvania certification.
• Knowledge and skills in customer and personal service, education and training, computers and electronics, instructing, psychology, mathematics, public safety and security, sociology and anthropology, and social perceptiveness.
• Skills in monitoring, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, systems analysis, and evaluation.
• Technology skills with Google Suite for Education, a student information system, student intervention programs, document camera, projector, laptop, and copier.
• Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including lifting 20–25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop rigorous and appropriate lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in cooperation with school-based leadership.
• Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data, measure progress, and use data to inform instruction.
• Collaborate in grade-level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and plan events for joy and humor.
• Engage families in their children's education by building relationships and maintaining regular communication.
• Create curriculum resources and align curriculum with the PSSA Assessment Anchors.
• Champion the Caring School Community Program.
