About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), is hiring a Child Support Services Agent 2 in Newnan, Georgia (Coweta County). Under general supervision, the agent establishes and enforces child support obligations and coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations. The position reports to the Child Support Services Agent Supervisor. DCSS works to improve children's well-being by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. Its outreach initiatives include Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court, which aim to increase non-custodial parental involvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of direct job-related experience; or one year of experience as a Child Support Services Agent 1 (SST060) or equivalent position.
Candidates may be subject to pre-employment drug screening, education verification, reference checks, motor vehicle records checks, and criminal background checks.
Educational credentials must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and/or the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Communicate with clients and other constituents by telephone, email, correspondence, and direct contact to ensure support obligations are met.
Manage a caseload to ensure child support obligations are met.
Coordinate child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations.
Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
