About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), is seeking a Child Support Services Agent 2 for its Decatur, Georgia location in DeKalb County. Under general supervision, this position establishes and enforces child support obligations of responsible parents and coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations. The position reports to the Child Support Services Agent Supervisor. DCSS supports children’s well-being by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. Its work promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers outreach programs, including Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court, to increase non-custodial parental involvement in children’s lives.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and two years of direct job-related experience; or one year of experience as a Child Support Services Agent 1 (SST060) or in an equivalent position.

Responsibilities

Establish child support obligations and ensure that they are met.
Communicate with clients and other constituents by telephone, email, correspondence, and direct contact to ensure support obligations are met.
Manage a caseload to ensure child support obligations are met.
Coordinate child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations.
Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
