About The Position

This is a professional position responsible for the administration of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program within the Department of children and Family Services (DCFS), Division of Family Support. The goal of CSE is to ensure that parents fulfill their obligation to provide financial and medical support for their child/children. Requirements

  • Five years of experience in child support enforcement; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A master’s degree plus one year of experience in child support enforcement.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Completes and processes new applications/cases while maintaining a caseload of the highest complexity.
  • Interprets and applies CSE policy and federal and state laws and regulations in all cases.
  • Reports directly to Child Support Enforcement Supervisor and serves as an assistant to that position.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors all levels of Social Services Analysts (SSA).
  • Interprets program policies for SSAs to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program directives, and agency policies and procedures.
  • Provides policy training to CSE staff via WebEx or classroom sessions as needed or requested.
  • Works closely with judges, court personnel, district attorneys, and the sheriffs to better provide services to families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
