About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is seeking a full-time Early Child Care Lead Teacher in Clayton. The teacher plans and implements activities using a play-based curriculum that introduces children to the world beyond their community while teaching developmentally appropriate skills and concepts. The role includes building daily rapport with families, sharing children’s milestones through electronic daily reports, and following enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe. The academy describes a supportive, inclusive, family-feel work environment and offers on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities, from Assistant Teacher through Center Director. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
At least six months of experience working in childcare, daycare, or preschool is preferred.
Ability to stand six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and perform similar movements while working with children.
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Ability to visually supervise children at all times.
Successful completion of a background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

Early Childhood coursework, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or a degree.
At least six months of experience working in childcare, daycare, or preschool.
